What to Expect
Your First Session
Sessions are scheduled for 60 minutes and will generally run for between 45-50 minutes – this extra time allows for your therapist to plan for the session, write notes, liaise with your GP, etc. Each clinician may take a slightly different approach however in general you will be asked some questions about your current life circumstances such as what you are struggling with, your family situation, work/study, lifestyle, hobbies and interests, as well as some information about your past that might be relevant.
This will be mostly conversational however you may also be asked to fill out some questionnaires depending on what it is that you’re struggling with and your clinicians’ approach.
